Service Overview

1 - Project and Design Management

We want to get your digital signage solution right first time, so the first phase for us in any new project is consultative, to determine the digital design solution that best fits your needs and budget.

Our project and design management process includes:

Understanding your requirements
We need to get to know your business, the market in which it operates and your objectives. We will work with you to evaluate your sites, identify optimum screen points and carry out research to calculate likely dwell times (the length of time people spend in a given space and are exposed to the digital media installed there).

Single or multiple site reviews
Site surveys are crucial. A structural survey will ensure monitors and other equipment can be properly installed and secured and cable testing will ensure transmission quality.

Risk assessment
You will want to know whether there are any risk issues (compromising your existing IT infrastructure, for example) and our recommendations for risk mitigation. We will assess any health and safety impact as we develop a schematic plan of your digital signage network.

Administration
It may be dull – but we invest time in administration so that expectations are met and there are no surprises. We will schedule our work and then keep to the timescale; and we will provide an accurate forecast of costs, so there are no financial surprises.

2 - Equipment and Installation

Phase 2 is about identifying and recommending the right equipment, delivering, installing and getting you up and running as quickly as possible. That also means making sure all involved are properly trained.

Specify and source equipment
Our project and design management phase will have identified space, light and sound requirements and constraints. We will have also identified any IT hardware, installation and cabling requirements.

The price of hardware has dropped dramatically in recent years. That said, we are committed to sourcing the best equipment option for your needs and budget – with further savings achieved from our many manufacturer relationships.

Delivery and installation
Your equipment will arrive on schedule. We will then work closely with your IT, property and facilities managers to ensure an efficient and professional installation with minimal impact on your day-to-day business activities.

Testing
Exhaustive equipment testing will iron out any glitches. We will load software on to media players making sure everything works in the way we said it would, right from day one.

Training
Scala software is user friendly. It can be used at a basic level to achieve excellent production results – but our intensive training will ensure maximum flexibility and usage from your software and hardware. We have created a purpose designed digital signage training suite in our in Bournemouth offices, and can also arrange on-site training if required.

3 - Content design and management

Direction Digital has two sister divisions – Direction Strategic and Direction Creative. See www.direction123.com for more information.

All three can come into play to ensure you get the most from your dynamic digital signage system.

In phase 3 we can look at your content strategy, review which elements require branding and where bespoke templates can ensure consistency and reduce your work level.

Working with Scala software makes this easy. From full creative design to simple template-based updating, Scala reduces production costs and time. Support for industry standard formats means you can leverage your print and web content easily. We can also introduce specialised Scala designers and programmers into the equation if we consider this the best way to optimise and enrich content.

After-sales support

Scala software is tried and tested, driving over 85,000 media players and 200,000 screens world-wide. The manufacturers from whom we source hardware are established industry players with reputations for quality.

This means problems are rare, but when they do occur Direction’s after sales support addresses the issue quickly. There are also various support packages available through Scala.

Direction Digital’s ‘after sales’ isn’t just about troubleshooting. We can conduct regular system reviews with you to confirm that your objectives are being met. You may also want equipment changes or upgrades, further training or network expansion.

Keeping up-to-date with the latest innovations in Digital Signage can prove a challenge, so if we think there's something new that you could benefit from, then we'll be in touch.
